Dr. Francis Kuria Kagema is the Secretary General of the African Council of Religious Leaders- Religions for Peace, based in Nairobi, Kenya and the Africa representative for Religions for Peace international. He has served as Secretary General, since 2014 and is responsible for the day to day management of the Secretariat; which implements decisions and policies of the Governing Board. He has the overall management responsibility of program implementation, reporting and contractual obligations to donor and partners. Dr. Kuria also serves as the Executive Director of the Inter Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) since 2008, where he was previously the programs director. Prior to joining IRCK, he was the National Coordinator for the Small Business Network, an organization advocating for small and medium enterprises. He also worked as a Financial Analyst at the Nairobi Stock Exchange for six years and as a volunteer with St. John Ambulance Brigade for a period of 16 years, retiring as Assistant Commissioner, Training and Operations in 1998. Dr. Kuria is a holder of a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, from the University of Nairobi.
